“Every business starts with a vision of what could be...” Backyards started with the idea of building a store where customers would find the best products available to enjoy life outside. Display those products in a way that would inspire their customers to envision new ideas for their home, then staff their store with the kind of people who naturally enjoy serving others. This concept all came together in 2005 when Backyards opened its first store in South Mount Vernon. Backyards is locally owned by John Barron and Bill Pinkey, who also own and operate Barron Heating and Air Conditioning, founded in 1973 by John’s father, Dan L. Barron and Fireplaces for Your Home, Barron’s design showroom, which opened in late 2005 and operates next to Backyards. Backyards is a unique blend of high-end products and a knowledgeable staff dedicated to helping their customers get the most out of their outdoor home living. Backyard’s sells Patio furniture, Jacuzzi Premium Spas, Grills, and Décor. A second Backyards store in Bellingham is slated for a 2008 opening.
